Polyurethane Fire Hose Structure:
Lining: PU
cover: Polyester jacket
Polyurethane fire hose is a type of fire fighting hose that has a PU coating on the inside of the hose. This coating serves as a barrier between the water or other liquid that goes through the hose and the outer layer of the hose. While the outer layer adopts a more durable material which is generally polyester.
The PU lining is flexible and light in weight. So that the hose is easy to handle and maneuver. It also has good resistance to wear, puncture and chemical damage. Thus it is ideal for use in harsh conditions. Besides durable and flexible, PU lined fire hose is also famous for their low friction loss. This means that less water pressure is lost as the water flows through the hose. While this allows for more efficient use of the water supply and better fire fighting performance.
Polyurethane Fire Hose Applications:
PU lined fire hoses often serves in fire fighting, irrigation and other places where need large volumes of water from long distances. For example, the forestry fire fighting. Generally, the forest is in the mountain areas. Thus there are less people. Besides, the traffic to the forest is not that developed. In addition, there are many weeds in the forest. Therefore, once there was any fire happens in the forest, it will spread rapidly, especially there is a heavy wind. In this case, the water is really hard to deliver to the fire site by trucks in time.
However, PU lined fire hose can deal with such problem. The hose is highly resistant to wear and it’s very durable. Thus you can set it though the forest. When the fire break out, you can pump the water and deliver it to the site with such hose. While with a LDH, you can deliver large volume of water and make the fire fighting work more effective.
